![]() More than some derivative creature design or simple mechanics, Storybook Brawl feels unfocused. Storybook Brawl is a very, very crowded game. Layering a hero character on top of artifacts, both drafted randomly from a huge pool each game, and the large pool of characters to buy, some of which combine well and some of which don't. The sheer number of random elements causes games to vary wildly from one to the next. For all that Storybook Brawl is like Hearthstone Battlegrounds, it's also a lot like genre progenitor Auto Chess. If you're keeping track here, that's an autobattler with positioning and random treasures. I lost more than a few matches because the key pieces of my hero's combo just never appeared. The economy is always tight, always limited, and you can never quite buy just what you want-nor even find it, sometimes. Each character costs gold equal to its level, and you can only hold four characters in your hand as a reserve. There are only seven places on the board, and that seven-character limit is-like in Hearthstone Battlegrounds-perhaps the big defining feature of Storybook Brawl, forcing you to be precise in what you buy and when. Do you want to keep two vampires, each with their own powerful on-kill effect, or do you want to beef up into one big, nasty vampire and free up board space? A lot of the coolest choices get made when you're combining pieces. Or you might stock up on flyers, who skip over and attack the back row, hoping to pick off your opponent's key support pieces. ![]() Use the triple bombs to do a ton of damage and stun.You might focus on characters which Support, giving bonuses to the characters in front of them, while giving your front rank characters all the buffs you can muster. She doesn’t do anything different from the first fight, except now she has the red shield covering her so direct attacks with weapons are useless until she is stunned. Take the path behind the throne and head all the way up to the open room for a cutscene followed by a Boss Fight with Nanny Fortuna. Clear out the enemies and follow the path further upwards in to the Queen’s Throne Room. Halfway up the stairs is an enemy encounter. Head back to the elevator and interact to go back up. Follow the only path past the scene with Nanny Fortuna to pick up the key we need. The stairs leading up are locked for now, so take the path towards the bottom and interact with the elevator to reach Spider Hall. Drop down to enter an enemy encounter, after which you can take the small stairs up and across some pipes. Go through the gate and take the path behind Mannie. Taking the path to the right at the fork, head up and cross the bridge to the gate of the fortress. If you’ve been exploring thoroughly, you shouldn’t need to but the option is there. There are some more pots in the area that you can farm. ![]() Either way leads you to the gate, but if you still need to buy some cards, take the path down and across the small bridge. Finish the conversation here and take the path on the right upwards until you reach a fork with a way down and a way up. Now head over to the Narrator’s cell and interact with it. Keep heading forward along the path and into the large area with the enemy encounter. Head past Mannie and take the left path across the pipes to drop down and collect Storybook page (9/10). Drop down to the next area and follow the ghost along the pipes and in to the next area with a Mannie store nearby. Before going towards the bridge, turn around to find some stairs up to a Storybook page (8/10).įollow the path down and around to the right to reach a pipe you have to cross over. Clear out the enemies in this area, then take the path leading to the bridge. Eventually you come across an enemy shooting from a bridge above. Head through the opening and clear out the next set of enemies. Clear out the enemies and keep them away from the crystal as much as possible to avoid healing them back up. Follow the ghost and take the path behind Mannie to drop down into an encounter with a large crystal in the middle. Exhaust the dialogue options and go through the open gate. Head through and follow the path straight forwards until you meet the Janitor. Walk down the bridge and use Dicey at the door to open it.
